Fortune teller
Maybe I don't want my fortune read
I don't want to know how it all ends
Im already filled with dread
Knowing that I lost my friend
I can't see her when the sun is shining
Because she'll just drag the clouds in
She's a rainy day without an umbrella
She's a skipping record and I can't tell her
How much I miss it
That sweet little kiss it
Really was the ticket
I'll have to smash that chrystal ball
So I can't know anything at all
But I think of you every day
Even though I'm the one who went away
Baby you know I couldnt stay
Another day would have been too long
You're the words to the saddest song
You know what feels so wrong?
How much I miss it
That sweet little kiss it
Really was the ticket
Fortune teller told me that day
That I was hooked there'd be no way
For me to ever leave you
I'd just have to believe in you
Extend my arms and wrap you up
Inhale all your wicked charms
Either you're evil or I'm just naive
But I find it hard to believe
How much I miss it
That sweet little kiss it
Really was the ticket

Peanut butter and potato chips
There must be a hole in my pocket
Or maybe in my head
I've looked in the car seats
And underneath my bed
But I can't find a dime
Or a nickel to rub
My stomach is growling
I'm an unwashed slob
Eating peanut butter
And potato chips
I'm the worlds oldest
Fourth grader
I can whine like a bitch
I'm the cranky old man
Get off my lawn you kids
My stomach is growling
I'm an unwashed slob
I'm eating peanut butter
And potato chips
I live in one room of a big old house
Keep the lights out
So I can't see the depression
All around me
Too bad there's no closet
To hang myself in
They'd find me in there
With my peanut butter
And potato chips
Or maybe in my head
I've looked in the car seats
And underneath my bed
But I can't find a dime
Or a nickel to rub
My stomach is growling
I'm an unwashed slob
Eating peanut butter
And potato chips
I'm the worlds oldest

I'm the cranky old man

the brownest eyes
My baby has the brownest of eyes
They can see through my every disguise
They lay me bare
She brushes back her hair
To reveal under there
A pair
Of the brownest eyes
They can see through my every disguise
They lay me bare
She brushes back her hair
To reveal under there
A pair
Of the brownest eyes

Solitary man
I got my telephone ringing in the corner
I really don't care who placed the call
I'll let it ring and ring until the light of morning
Til from the sky every star does fall
Tonight I am a solitary man
Keep the voices out anyway I can
Tonight I am a solitary man
And when the sun comes up
I'll be right back where I began
There's a stranger out there standing on my doorstep
Pounds his fists relentless on my door
He could be here bringing fame and countless millions
He can pound and pound until his fists are sore
Because tonight I am a solitary man
Keep the voices out any way I can
Tonight I am a solitary man
When the sun comes up
I'll be right back where I began
There's a beauty out there underneath my window
She'll end it all if I don't let her in
How she packed up left her man and ran right over
But I don't get involved in other peoples sin
Tonight I am a solitary man
Keep the voices out anyway I can
Tonight I am a solitary man
And when the sun comes up
I'll be right back where I began
I really don't care who placed the call
I'll let it ring and ring until the light of morning
Til from the sky every star does fall
Tonight I am a solitary man
Keep the voices out anyway I can
Tonight I am a solitary man
And when the sun comes up

ghosts
Alone with my thoughts
Is a mighty lonely place
Just me and my ghosts
Tryin to find some time to waste
Checking in with all
The friends who've passed
Hope they're in a better place
God but we had a blast
It's a wonder I'm alive at all
Amazing I can walk
Let alone stand so tall
That lonely junkie tortured soul
Without the talent to back it up
Can only get you so far in life
Til you realize it's time to put up or shut up
Let go of the ghosts
There's only so much of me to go around
But everyone wants their piece
It tears my brain apart
Fragmented to say the least
It's gonna take some pretty strong glue
To keep it all together
Just gonna fall apart again
In stormy weather
Got to let go of the ghosts
Is a mighty lonely place
Just me and my ghosts
Tryin to find some time to waste
Checking in with all
The friends who've passed
Hope they're in a better place
God but we had a blast
It's a wonder I'm alive at all

Shut down
I've got that dirty sweaty feeling
That aching muscle death grip
My bones are made of plaster
My paper skin it rips
And I can feel me shutting down
Shutting down against the weight
Of your eyes
On me
Against the weight
Of your lies
On me
You shut me down
I've got a yellow smokey ceiling
Burned my fingers down to nubs
I can't see past my bleeding
Heart
There in lies the rub
I can feel me shutting down
Shutting down against the weight
Of your eyes
On me
Against the weight
Of your lies
On me
You've shut me down
Your lack of resolution
Tests my constitution
Will I stand up to
Your persecution
I've got that dirty sweaty feeling
That aching muscle death grip
My bones are made of plaster
My paper skin it rips
And I can feel me shutting down
Shutting down against the weight
Of your eyes
On me
Against the weight
Of your lies
On me
You shut me down
That aching muscle death grip
My bones are made of plaster
My paper skin it rips
And I can feel me shutting down
Shutting down against the weight
Of your eyes
On me
Against the weight
Of your lies
On me
You shut me down
I've got a yellow smokey ceiling
Burned my fingers down to nubs
I can't see past my bleeding

I can feel me shutting down
Shutting down against the weight
